I adore baseball uniforms’ history. You can see so much evolution both in the sports and in the society regarding how long some pants where, the socks, the skirts in female teams.
F is for Fast Hitter
Phoenix got the F both because her name in spanish is spelled Fenix, and because she is one of the fastest hitters in the Traveling Seers team.
Onwards 2019
As the year begins, I thought I’d give you a run down of what I am working on, comic – wise (the other projects, that are illustration only, will come later I think)
Traveling Seers and Piper’s Kids
In my comic, Traveling Seers (that you can read at Tapas.io/series/TravelingSeers ) I just introduced in english to Piper’s family, made completely out of ghost kids (long, long story that one day I will tell in it’s entirely). Of course, those ghost kids also love Baseball and the team loves them, so of course I had to do a whole series with the players and SOME of the kids:

100 posts in Calico Chimera and it’s all thanks to you guys. I mean, there aren’t many comments as I write this, but I know you’re reading and watching (thank you site statistics), so I really wanted to thank you all with some illustrations. And well, let you know what’s on the cards for the next 100 posts!
First of all, I really want to make this site a bit more interactive, so let me know what you want to see from me, ok? Second, let’s take a look to those illustrations (and their stories and what’s on their future)
Irene Doll, the girl who started it all. She wasn’t my first original character, but she was the first one I published professionally (meaning, I got paid!). Her story is kind of done, but I still have one extra surprise for those who miss her. (Check my newsletter for MORE information on that) Oh, btw, she was the 31 drawing for Inktober, with the prompt Slice.
I hope you guys are familiar with Robin and his magical messenger Gavin. Robin still hates that I draw him as a girl more often than not, but well, not my fault! He looks pretty. I hope to finish issues 4 – 6 next year, so you can follow his adventures at the Dream Keeper Robin page in Tapas. Or buy the books at my store and at cons!
Maria and the Traveling Seers had a bit of a vacation for two years, so it’s time for them to get back in the field. Murphy was kind enough not to eat the flowers until I was finished with the drawing. You can read all about this supernatural baseball team at Traveling Seers in tapas.
Romeo and I have a long story. The magazine where his story appeared was the first one I edited professionally, but his personal story was filled with executive meddling. So now in Gradients, I have the freedom to tell it as it was. For now, you can read the strips at my Patreon (one for free every month, three for $1.00 USD per month), but in 2019 I have planned to publish the longform story (And yes, mexican readers, THAT question you’ve been asking since 2002 WILL be answered)
And finally, Lily. She came to me in a dream, and I have been writing and redoing her story for two years now. But thanks to my new editor, Amy Zunk, it’s starting to take shape so you all will get a chance to meet her and her crush Raz in 2019. I promise!

Traveling Seers Month and Subscription Drive
This was the very first illustration I did for Traveling Seers. Maria, on the home plate, ready to start an inning. There’s a lot to say about Maria: why I choose that nickname, why he bears with it, and yes, how he feels about leaving his country to chase his dream. While the story began in spanish a long time ago, I am just showing it in English now. However, don’t worry: Once we get up to date with the spanish version, it will keep going.
This month Traveling Seers will be updated every weekday in Tapas. This is to give you guys a bigger archive to read, and to do a subscription drive at Tapas: If I get to 300 subscribers before Nov 1, I will keep a Monday-Wednesday-Friday update schedule through November and onwards. So, as they say in Youtube: Like and subscribe!
The Usual Suspects
In every story, there’s that one character who enjoys getting in trouble and getting everyone else in trouble. The troublemakers, so to speak. Obviously, my stories are not the exception.
I made this illustration, with the most mischievous of my characters from my stories for a new banner in my patreon and facebook page, but of course, I just had to make them full body to share them with you all.

Traveling Seers Strike again
Have I mentioned I love Baseball? Because I do. I adore the sport, I adore everything around the sport, and there’s nothing I like more than watching games while I draw. So… yeah, the Traveling Seers are dear to my heart. As I mentioned before, I am just introducing them in English, despite being a bit older for Mexican readers, so I hope you read the comic here, and subscribe to get all the updates!
Traveling Seers Comes Back
In 2015, I started in spanish a series that is really, really close to my heart: Traveling Seers.
The story of a baseball team made up of mediums, the only ones allowed to play in the Afterlife League, where all those people who loved baseball in life can keep playing for eternity.
I published two books of short stories in spanish, Traveling Seers and Traveling Seers: The spirit of the Game, but they have never been available in English… until now, sort of.
Starting this Wednesday, September 5, you can read the stories of the Traveling Seers Here. For now, I’m starting sharing the stories that are already available in Spanish, only translated, but after a while I will also start adding completely new stories (That will, in time, make the third volume of this series). Of course, if you want to buy the volumes in spanish, they’re still in stock at the Store.
I really hope you enjoy this new adventure, and while the real Baseball season is about to end, you have fun with the new afterlife season.
Traveling Seers
Traveling Seers is a project very dear to my heart, even if it is on temporary hiatus. It was the last spanish-first comic I did, and the very first Mexican Baseball Comic published -ok, so I self-published, it still counts.
The story is about a baseball team formed by different kinds of psychics, who play baseball against the ghosts of those who loved the game. And well, I love my team. And I love their manager, Murphy the Goat, who is a bit infamous for… other reasons.
I hope to come back to them soon. I am working on the third volume, but it’s slow. Still, I never forget them.
