There isn’t much to say about Princess Bride that hasn’t been said already: It’s a classic, a wonderful story that takes many fantasy tropes, subverts them, and makes them its own. I fell in love with the movie first, with Robin Wright’s Buttercup and Carey Elwes’ Westley, with Mandi Patinkin’s Inigo and Andre the Giant’s Fezzik. But when I discovered the book, and read it in two days, I fell in love all over again.
