Cats Make Bad Familiars

This is a one page comic I made last year for a contest (That, unfortunately, I didn’t win). While I know that cats are by tradition the witches’ familiars, my own experience with my cats make me wonder… how did they manage to get ANYTHING done.

(those who follow me in facebook… yeah, the cat is based on my beloved Hei Hei)

Villisca Axe Murder House

After doing the Stephen King Haunted Houses last year, I kind of got inspired to do more, only that instead of doing more literary houses, I decided to try and work with some real pieces of architecture that have been said to be haunted.  And here’s the first of the set:

The now named Villisca Axe Murder House sits on Villisca, Iowa. The whole story is quite dreadful as in one night seven people died inside her, without the murder ever being caught. After… well, some people claimed to see shoes filled with blood if they stayed to sleep there (something that is no longer possible).  So, what other secrets does she keep?

Under the waves

Third of my half-naked cute guys. This one likes to swim near corals and beautiful underwater landscapes. And man, it was really, really fun to color all the waves!

Copic, Aquarelle and white gel pens.

Pie Dragons

Apple, Blueberry, Cherry, Lemon. Choose your flavor

This is a new project I’ve been working on: the Pie Dragons. Each Dragon represents a different kind of pie, and has a personality that matches (Apple is really traditional, Blueberry is mischievous, Cherry is very lovable, and Lemon… Lemon is cute). For now, they’re just stickers (Available at the store, will be fixing it really soon, and at conventions where I have a table), but I hope soon to make magnets too since.. come on, Pie! Everyone loves Pie!

You can also get the coloring book pages if you join my Patreon, as Apple is February’s reward.

Air Balloons

Another one of the cute half-naked guys I’m doing. He likes to meditate while watching air balloons. Here the challenge was to make the reflection, so I think I will work on them a bit more.

Copics with Aquarelle and white gel pen.

Mountain Top

One of my goals for 2018 is to make more art. Not just for Writer’s Block (that you can read at tapas.io/series/Writersblock) or Dream Keeper Robin (every monday, tapas.io/series/Dreamkeeperrobin) but also just because. So I started doing some cute half naked guys and decided to share the first one with you.

Copic markers with Aquarelle pencils and a little bit of gel white pen.

Happy New Year Everyone

2018 is here, and well, we all survived so far. I can’t deny that 2017 was hard, but it also brought great challenges and new friendships. So to face 2018 right, I decided I am going to do at least one drawing a day.  I actually started on Dec. 22, to practice and make sure I could keep the rhythm of my other projects (Dream Keeper Robin #3, and of course, the continued Writer’s Block), as you may have seen if you follow me on instagram (instagram.com/luxshinedraws). So here are all the 2017 small daily drawings, from 22-12 to 31-12.

So here’s for a great 2018, filled with art and emotion. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us.
